In the 1950's, G. Harry Stine, aka the SF author Lee Correy, was the editor of Missile Away!, the journal of the White Sands chapter of the American Rocket Society, and also a close friend and working associate of James' father Cecil Post, a rocket radio research engineer. When producer George Pal announced that his new Mars adventure motion picture was scientifically accurate, G. Harry asked 12-year-old James to go see the film and review it. Pal was reportedly offended by Stine's choice when the following review was published.
